Selini Halvadaki (b. 1985) is a visual artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Halvadaki is working primarily with moving images and text as well as with collaborative projects and collective organising. Recurring themes involve memory, history, and identity at the intersection of personal and collective experience specifically trough image production and language. In her methods, as well as in her thematics, Halvadaki incorporates an element of performativity by using non-linear strategies to re-edit and combine moving images as part of a critical and investigative approach to art. She engages in collaborative projects in order to explore alternatives to an often highly individualized (art) world.
Her work has been shown at international film festivals including Images Festival in Toronto, CPH:DOX Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival, Athens International Short Film Festival, KINO DER KUNST in Munich, and exhibited internationally at Biennale of Western Balkans, MARSIstanbul, VISIO European Programme on Artists' Moving Images at Lo schermo dell’arte Film Festival in Florence as well as at Overgaden - Institute of Contemporary Art, Kunsthal Charlottenborg and Nikolaj Kunsthal in Copenhagen.
