In Between (transformations of α, β, γ, δ, etc.) consists of a series of 69 signs crafted in ceramics. The work departs from Halvadakis personal experience of navigating between languages rooted in her background as half Greek, half Danish.
The ceramic signs visually reference the Greek alphabet, but instead of merely copying the shapes of individual letters, as is typically done when learning a new language, the letters dissolve, and are transformed into new visual forms. With this gesture the work gives physical shape to the space of “in-betweenness”- creating a new space for understanding.

Here, it's not about perfecting a specific language but rather about the lived experience that is living and navigating across different languages. 

The visual graphic expression of the work draws on the graphic tradition's association with writing and communication.
